March 25th - March 26th

Community Film Festival

We have curated an unforgettable lineup of films showcasing makers, thinkers, explorers, and doers from across the globe. Mountainfilm celebrates adventure and the indomitable human spirit – and we’re excited to bring that energy and spirit to our community for the 5th annual Mountainfilm on Tour: Saugatuck Film Festival.

Mountainfilm on Tour

We have a passion for the planet, for wild spaces, for entrepreneurs, different cultures, daring souls, and curious animals. These films tell the stories of the world outside our immediate surroundings, of inspiration, strength, perseverance, and daring to dream.

Mountainfilm celebrates adventure and the indomitable human spirit – and we’re excited to bring that energy and spirit to our community for the 5th annual Mountainfilm on Tour: Saugatuck Film Festival.

The After Party: Wildermiss

When the good times are rolling, we WON’T let them stop. After the credits roll on the Medley – grab a beer and get ready for a rocking good time by Colorado-based indie rock band, Wildermiss.

Wildermiss is made up of Emma Cole on vocals and synth, Joshua Hester plays guitar, and Caleb Thoemke plays drums. They have sold out all of their hometown headlining shows since 2017 and steadily gained momentum nationwide with multiple support tours and festival spots. The band is currently working on the follow up to their quarantine singles “Supermagical” and “Italy” with plans to tour until their van dies again like it did in Michigan that one time.

Feature Film: The Ants and the Grasshopper

90 minutes

How do you change someone’s mind about the most important thing in the world?

Anita Chitaya has a gift; she can help bring abundant food from dead soil, she can make men fight for gender equality, and she can end child hunger in her village.  Now, to save her home from extreme weather, she faces her greatest challenge: persuading Americans that climate change is real. Traveling from Malawi to California to the White House, she meets climate skeptics and despairing farmers. Her journey takes her across all the divisions shaping the US, from the rural-urban divide, to schisms of race, class and gender, to the thinking that allows Americans to believe they live on a different planet from everyone else. It will take all her skill and experience to help Americans recognize, and free themselves from, a logic that is already destroying the Earth.
