Filled with the songs you remember and a story you’ll never forget. Beautiful features such hit songs as “One Fine Day”, “(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman”, “You’ve Got a Friend”, “Take Good Care of Me Baby”, and “You’ve Lost That Lovin’ Feeling”.

Before she was Carole King, the voice of a generation, she was Carol Klein, a spunky young song-writer from Brooklyn with a unique voice. Carole broke into the record industry as a teenager and sold her first hit “Will You Love Me Tomorrow” at the age of seventeen. By the end of her teen years, she was performing alongside some of the biggest acts in rock ‘n’ roll including Aretha Franklin, The Monkees, The Drifters, and The Shirelles.

On her way to the top of the charts, King overcame her greatest challenges to find her own voice and finally step into the spotlight – becoming one of the most successful solo acts of a generation.

With a stirring book by the late Oscar® and Tony®-nominated Douglas McGrath and the music and lyrics of icons Carole King, Gerry Goffin, Barry Mann, and Cynthia Weil, Beautiful is the inspiring tale about a girl who became King.

Beautiful thrilled Broadway and touring audiences for more than 9 years, and now you can experience it at the boutique theater at the SCA Summer of 2024.

Did you know that the Saugatuck Center for the Arts is a professional producing theater? What does that mean exactly?

Our in-house Artistic Director Kurt Stamm hand selects each one of our cast and crew out of thousands of applicants from around the country. Because we are an Equity theater, we have the opportunity to hire professional actors from the union based in New York, Chicago, LA and more! Kurt and his team then design a set, choreography, sound, light, and full experience from the ground up – meaning you’ll get a one-of-a-kind, Broadway-caliber, professional performance right here in Saugatuck.
