City Builders Camp

Instructor Ellen Sprouls takes participants on a historic tour of Saugatuck and Douglas architecture then guides students in creating a scaled model of their own city using recycled materials.

Fresh Art + Fresh Film

Start with a batch of fun, intriguing children’s short films, then take a snack break before heading into the Art Studio to create artwork reflecting themes from the films.

Mosaics for Kids

A mosaic is a pattern or picture made using many small objects (traditionally with stone, tile and glass). We’ll make modern mosaiced pictures, patterns, collages, and more using pre-cut glass, ceramic tiles, marbles, and buttons (grouting is done during the class – please wear your “grubbies”).

Recycled Sculpture Series: “Cardboard, Wire and Found Objects”

July 13 – July 15 (Monday – Wednesday)

Ready to create in 3-D? During this cool sculpture class participants make a new sculpture daily, beginning with cardboard, then moving to wire, and finally incorporating natural found and recycled materials.


Pollack for Kids!

Kids will draw inspiration in the same manner as Jackson Pollack - the artist Time magazine once called "Jack the Dripper". Students will be able to define the terms "abstract expressionism" and "action paintings" as they splatter, throw and swirl the colors to create their own “masterpiece”! This class is wonderfully messy – please wear your “grubbies”.


Kids Can Cook,Too!

Ready for more than PB & J? Chef Jim LaPerriere teaches cooking basics including shopping (at the Greenmarket), reading recipes, food prep, and creating your own culinary masterpieces. From salsa to chocolate cake, you CAN make it! Jim LaPerriere is an executive chef with extensive culinary experience and a passion for fresh, healthy food and teaching young talent.



Young Actors Camp

Whether you’re dreaming of becoming a star or just want to have some fun, this camp is a week-long adventure in creativity. Students learn the basic skills involved in character exploration, improvisation, musical theatre, and storytelling then use creative dramatic techniques to explore plot and setting. Participants create and perform short scenes during the week, and get a “sneak peek” of a dress rehearsal performed by professional actors from Mason Street Warehouse. Students close the week with an “informance” for parents to showcase their skills.

LEGO Explorers

Younger builders get their creative juices flowing during this informally structured, 3-day workshop. Each day participants tackle a different problem or theme, sharing ideas and building design skills.


LEGO Vehicles

For Lego builders with intermediate skills … design and build powered LEGO cars, trucks, robots, or whatever you can dream up! The only limit is your imagination in this “movable” Lego workshop that will develop your problem solving and design skills.


Lego Mission: MARS!

For Lego builders with intermediate skills … will your Lego robot make it to Mars? During Mission to Mars, participants study and build Lego robots that will experience challenges like those encountered by scientists and space engineers. Take your Lego building to the next level with this interactive, hands-on workshop.


Musical Performance Camp

Take your singing and dance skills to the next level during this camp focusing on vocals and performance. Award-winning instructor Tim Heck teaches basic vocal control and care, stage etiquette, stage presence, and dance. Puppet Magic!

Discover the art and magic of puppetry! Professional puppeteers Larry Basgall and Michael Schwabe share the history of puppetry and show students a variety of puppet styles from their own collection (including Playhouse Disney’s “Bunnytown” and “Jack’s Big Music Show”). Students will make their own 3-dimensional creations and learn about puppet theatre and how to put on their own performances for family and friends!
