The Saugatuck Center for the Arts is one of the only professional Equity theaters in West Michigan. That means that we have the opportunity to hire talent from the Actor’s Equity Union, which represents more than 51,000 professional actors and stage managers from all around the country.

We bring talent from New York, Chicago, and LA. In fact, this year we saw more than 800 people for in-person auditions in Chicago and New York, in addition to 200+ virtual submissions. To sum it up, our shows are professional Broadway level talent.

In addition, we’re a producing theater with an in-house Artistic Director, Kurt Stamm. What that means is that we build every show piece by piece from the ground up. The set is custom made to our stage, the choreography is tailored to our space and actors, costumes, lights, props, and more – all made specifically for our show. So, we mean it when you say that you’ll never see our show anywhere but on our stage.
