Jump Into Hands-On Community Activities!

Friday, June 4th at the SCA and Coghlin Park

Our little plot on the map is a special place, and it’s no secret what makes Saugatuck/Douglas/Fennville what it is — THE COMMUNITY!

What better way could there be to kick off another amazing summer season than celebrating just that with community leaders and partners at Jump Into Summer at the SCA on June 4th?!

You already heard all about the live music – so hopefully you’ve been practicing your moves to cut a rug on the dance floor with Mike Mains & The Branches. The Michigan native pop-rock band will bring fresh, feel-good songs that will have you on your feet!

Once you’re loosened up, follow our dancing, costumed crossing guards over to Coghlin Park where you can join a host of community partners for additional family fun!

We’re turning the Park’s green space into an accessible, welcoming space for all ages to play in. Local organizations are bringing games, educational opportunities, giveaways, and activities! Guests can express their creativity through art, get their bodies moving, interact with live animals – both with feathers and scales, OR even meet their very own new furry friend at the Adoption Drive hosted by Wishbone Pet Rescue!

Celebrate with all sorts of friends, including:

Wishbone Pet Rescue
4 Paws Lakeshore
Expand your heart and your family at Jump — Wishbone & 4 Paws will have animals available for adoption!
Ox-Bow School of Art
Big Read Lakeshore
Mt Baldhead Challenge

Express your heart and soul with us.

We can’t stop at just entertainment – we need to dig deep and use our creative minds to collaborate and create something special and meaningful together.

We recognize that our community is what makes us strong, and we are so happy to gather with you again and get hands-on with our Visiting Exhibition Artist, Sandra Antongiorgi. After you explore Sandra’s exhibition, Elevating Humanity: Forging Healing Through Connection to find inspiration; you and your family will have the chance to add your unique mark to our collaborative mixed-media painting that will be exhibited in our corridor gallery all summer long! Through drawing, painting, and writing – families will be invited to visually represent how they envision a healthy vibrant community look and feel like.

What community do you belong to? What’s your favorite thing about your community? What are you most looking forward to doing this summer in your community?

Too much to explore, not enough time? Take the fun home with you instead! While supplies last, take-home bags stuffed with art supplies and creative prompts will be available.

Open up your creative mind and add something that is organically and originally YOU!
