“A VA-VA-VOOM production”
The New York Times
Based on the inspiring true story of the W.J. Brooks Shoe Store, Kinky Boots brings joy, motivation, and a little bit of glamor to the SCA stage this summer. This story follows an aspiring young businessman who is forced to give up his dreams of living the London city life in order to save his late father’s family business.
When Charlie suddenly inherits his father’s bankrupt shoe factory, he finds unexpected inspiration in the form of Lola, a fabulous entertainer in need of some sturdy stilettos. As Charlie and Lola work to turn the factory around, this unlikely pair finds that they have more in common than they ever dreamed possible… and discovers that when you change your mind about someone, you can change your whole world.
Winner of 6 Tony awards and with a musical score by pop-rock star Cyndi Lauper, The New York Times says Kinky Boots is, “a VA-VA-VOOM production!” Filled with glitter, glam and a whole lot of sole, Kinky Boots is a reminder to celebrate your life triumphantly!
Despite its name, the kinkiest thing about this show is the title (and those sparkly red boots). This show is appropriate for ages 10 and up.
