A Bright Night

A Bright Night is a FREE celebration closing out our 20th Season at the SCA on Friday, October 28. We’re kicking off the Halloween weekend with an all-ages, get-your-groove-on party with exhibition artist Molly Costello.

October 28, 6 – 9PM

The Party

Celebrate the closing of our 20th anniversary season with us at the FREE all-ages DANCE PARTY (and so much more!) on Friday, October 28 from 6:00 – 9:00 pm. We’re kicking off the Halloween Weekend with a get-your-groove-on party with exhibition artist Molly Costello. Guests can experience Molly’s colorful print illustrations in their DEBUT exhibition Fertile Futures.

Under the pavilion, guests can join the silent disco dance party. Headphones are provided to all guests that can be tuned into one of three DJ channels – you get to select which one matches your dancing shoes! Each DJ will be associated with a different color, and lights on each guests headphones will signal to DJs and to other guests who is jamming along with them.

Join the battle of the DJ’s to get the biggest crowd on their channel.

Already in the holiday spirit and want to show off your sweet handmade costume? Great! Costumes are welcomed, but not required.

The Exhibition

Rooted in gratitude, Molly Costello, seeks to nurture and honor the light in each individual through their work. Through bold colors and shimmering stars dotted throughout the canvas, Molly calls us all to dig inside and uncover our own inner glow that is inherently connected with others. These networks of connected brilliance are woven together to form a current of constellations that is within all of our reach. Costello’s work reminds us that constellations not only call us higher to strive for a more just and equitable world, they also remind us of the power of our collective efforts in creating a unified force for good.

The Food + Drink

You can’t dance all night without the proper fuel! The bar will be open slinging beer, wine, and specialty cocktails – including some extra special options to make your night truly glow. In addition to your libation needs, delicious snacks will be available.

The Hands-On

Dancing, exhibition opening, food, and drinks not enough for you? Well, have no fear – there’s MORE! The SCA Joy Squad (Education Team) will be leading all-ages hands-on activities to add even more joy to this celebration.

The party doesn't stop when the music does...

Jump on the Interurban for a FREE ride over to our friends at Ox-Bow for Ox-Bow Goes to Hell, an annual weekend of the weird and spooky throughout the campus.

This year they’re opening up the fiery pits, welcoming all souls to get lost in wonder among the freaky sights and bizarre frights that those artists in the woods at Ox-Bow have to offer. Tickets can be purchased online in advance or on campus the night of event.
