Join Kalamazoo-based artist Trevor Grabill for a morning of balsa wood relief printmaking. Through the lens of repetition and pattern, campers will design, “carve” and print their own blocks.

Jun 28, 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm

About The Program

Join Kalamazoo-based artist Trevor Grabill for a morning of balsa wood relief printmaking. Get inspired by the shapes of nature, and learn about the practice of woodblock printing. Explore how to create repetition and pattern using balsa wood blocks with no carving required! Campers will design and print their own artwork while learning about the elements of art including positive vs negative space.

Trevor Grabill is a printmaker and owner of Flat Mountain Press based in Kalamazoo. Focused on repetition and pattern, Grabill’s prints respond to both the natural landscape and political landscape of Michigan. Find them at https://flatmtnpress.com/ or https://www.instagram.com/flat_mountains/
