About The Program

Join Scotty Jacobs from Specialty Gardens to learn about how gardens inspire and provide for us creatively and spiritually. Young artists will explore the SCA garden for uniquely textured foliage and safely harvest cuttings to use as paint brushes to create our own unique paintings. Make connections between the organic patterns and textures of plants and how they can be used to create one-of-a-kind artwork.

As the Garden Liaison for Specialty Gardens, Scotty is tasked with the unique responsibility of encouraging the gardeners, clients, and our community to grow closer with the gardens in which we work.

“I’ve learned that happy gardeners grow happy gardens, so I take a spirited approach to digging in the dirt. There’s something really special about helping others build their confidence too!” – Scotty Jacobs

Scotty and his wife reside in Saugatuck Township with their sweet senior pup and love hanging out close to home. Learn more about Specialty Gardens.
