About the Class

Join organic farmer and chef, Jenny Bongiorno from Farm Kitchen in Grand Rapids, for an evening of outdoor garden exploration and fresh in-season bites! Visit Eighth Day Farm in Holland for an off-site learning experience about the benefits and basics of planting and growing a food garden while taking in the sights of a local 2-acre farm in peak season. Return to the SCA for a taste of seasonal veggies and herbs prepared with simple, flavorful ingredients and leave with recipes for your own kitchen. Enjoy an herb-infused cocktail at golden hour as you gather inspiration and know-how for beginning or improving your own home garden, or simply enjoy a moment to revel in the summer growing season. A sensory experience that is sure to delight both the seasoned gardener and curious observer.

Gluten-free, Vegan, and Vegetarian dietary preferences are able to be accommodated. Food will be prepared in a shared kitchen, and allergen cross-contaminations cannot be avoided.
