Visiting Artist Experience
NOVEMBER 12 - 17, 2021
The opportunity:
Through this visiting artist experience your students will be exposed to a contemporary Anishinaabe graphic designer and learn more about Mariah’s artistic process of celebrating her heritage through art and storytelling. During the classroom visit, students will be invited to explore and honor their own heritage and family traditions and will be given visual agency to create a 2D or digital work that tells a story and celebrates their own traditions and stories.
Interested in being involved?
Mariah will share her passion for storytelling as well as visual and digital arts. Available days for a classroom visit are:
- Friday, November 12
- Monday, November 15
- Tuesday, November 16
- Wednesday, November 17
- Virtual engagement upon request
We are accepting a limited number of visits. Interested educators must respond by Friday, October 15, 2021.
