About The Program
Participants will explore the creative potential of copiers and printers by creating unique, layered collages inspired by Jaer’s current exhibition: El Punto de Reposo. Together, we’ll experiment with scanbeds to duplicate and enlarge images, then will cut, layer, and affix them into thoughtful, multi-layered collages. No prior art-making experience is required!
Jaer Medina
Jaer Medina is an artist and community organizer based out of Holland, Michigan. His work blends Mexican-American culture and new media practices. Having graduated with a BA from the Visual and Media Arts Department at Grand Valley State University, Jaer is interested in photography, sculpture, and space-making. He believes art can be a tool to strengthen community bonds through cultural appreciation. When not at CultureWorks, Jaer runs a community-based art gallery out of his garage, CREA. The space serves as an incubator for emerging and established artists to curate art shows, lead workshops, host lectures, or simply hang out.
