Music From The Mitten

Chris Blisset, also known as “Red,” has been on the road for 25+ years, performing in 45 states, Canada, and the Great Lakes State (many times!) Join “Red” as he shares his (and your) favorite songs from the songwriters and artists that make Michigan great – and the tales of a quarter century on America’s (and Michigan’s) highways.
Concert

Join Red for a rocking evening of musical thanks with a show dedicated to the songwriters of our beloved state!

Hear: the music of Michigan’s Aretha Franklin, Jack White, Glenn Frey, Madonna, Del Shannon, Bob Seger, Son House, The MC5, Stevie Wonder, John Lee Hooker, and Iggy Pop.

Also Hear: tales of a life on Michigan highways, including: Red single-handedly ending the cold war at a camp near Muskegon, Hitchhiking through Michigan chasing a woman (and her concert tickets), and spending Christmas Eve in the Alleghany County Jail.

When Chris Blisset (also known as “Red”) took Kurt Stamm’s phone call 20 years ago, he did not know that he was taking a job at a place that would become home. Since then, he has spent over a year of his life working in Saugatuck, doing 10+ contracts for the SCA (Once, Million Dollar Quartet, Full Monty, Great American Trailer Park Musical, Unnecessary Farce, Pump Boys and Dinettes, Just Too Big, Oh What a Night, Honky-Tonk Highway, and his previous tribute to Bowie, Cohen, and Dylan). It was here that he: met his wife, married her, lost his appendix, got his union card, played many nights at local bars and restaurants, made many friends and colleagues, and got arrested (well, one of the times was here).
