Hope College dance instructor Nicole Flinn connects dance with oral storytelling. Read Legend of the Loon, and respond using dance. Even make your own loon wings to dance in!

Jun 24, 9:30 am - 12:30 pm

About The Program

Using dance and movement, connect with traditions of oral storytelling with Hope College dance instructor Nicole Flinn. Learn a bit about the Indigenious histories of West Michigan while connecting to modern practices. Campers will read “Legend of the Loon”, inspired by Scandanivan folklore and Lake Michigan, and make their own loon wings to respond to the story using dance.

Nicole Flinn is a dance instructor at Hope College and leader of Strike Time Dance Company. Strike Time works with grades K–6 throughout Michigan to introduce and highlight dance for children of all backgrounds.
