Join two of Grand Rapids’ most celebrated performers, Kelly Carey and Sam Parks, for an evening of acoustic jams at the SCA! This laid-back evening will feature a truly diverse playlist including pop, rock, country and (yes) Broadway favorites ranging from the 60’s to today with artists like Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, The Doobie Brothers, Dolly Parton, Bon Jovi, the Beatles, Prince, Lizzo, Hamilton, Wicked, Cher, James Taylor, The Eagles, Bruno Mars…and more! The talent and versatility of this with leave you breathless! And also there will be cocktails – what could be better?

Meet the Artists

Kelly Carey is no stranger to the SCA, she starred in several MSW productions including Legally Blonde, The Marvelous Wonderettes, Das Barbeque, and the (original) productions of Smokey Joe’s Cafe and The Great American Trailer Park Musical! She has also performed in various concert and cabaret productions here as well! While still a working performer, Kelly is also a speech-language pathologist with a specialty in voice therapy at Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation Hospital in Grand Rapids and a voice teacher in her home studio and at Western Michigan University. Kelly is a guest entertainer on cruise ships, a frequent guest with renowned band, Brena, and the longest-running guest act at The Dunes Resort just down the road! When she’s not entertaining, she loves traveling and being a voice-nerd!

Sam Parks has been a staple in the Grand Rapids music scene for 25 years. He’s the founding member, lead guitar and vocalist in his band Rusty and the Razorblades and as lead guitarist, he’s the driving force of the band Brena for over a decade. Whether it’s laid back acoustic jams, electrifying rock, or soulful blues –  his prowess is unmatched! He loves to collect guitars and on the rare occasion he is not busy on a gig, he loves riding his Harley Davidson and doing endless projects around his house.
