The SCA teams up with Velo Kids to bring you two days of cycling and art! Join Velo Kids on an art-inspired bike tour for two mornings and visit parks, gardens, and awesome art-friendly locations before heading to the SCA for lunch. In the afternoon, make colorful and unconventional art projects with the SCA team inspired by your biking adventures!
In the morning with Velo Kids from 9:00 am – 12:00 pm, you’ll explore local bike paths and discover places like Wick’s Park, Village Square Park, Mount Baldhead Park, Douglas Beach and more! Learn how to bike safely and bike smart around town and develop bike repair and maintenance skills. Learn and practice stewardship for our trails, parks and our community while you meet new friends, get active, and have fun in the great outdoors!
In the afternoon from 12:00 – 4:00 pm, SCA leads playful art making inspired by your wheels and outside fun! Decorate your ride and try printmaking with bike-like materials with guest artist Trevor Grabill. Work individually and collaboratively to create artwork outdoors inspired by your morning trips! A healthy afternoon snack is provided by the SCA.
Pick-up and drop-off is at the Saugatuck Center for the Arts. Campers must bring their own bicycles to attend. Bike trips are weather permitting.
