Get ready to create using S.T.E.A.M. power (science, technology, engineering, art, math) and your imagination!
Campers work alongside design professionals who share their processes for creating mechanisms, electronics, models, and performance toys. Campers will have hands-on experiences in our pop-up lab to experiment with small machinery, 3D printers and designing tools.
Jon Vanderbeek and Todd Engle will lead this two-day workshop, unleashing the power of S.T.E.A.M. to help campers create automatons.
Campers will discover how and why things move, learning basic fabrication techniques used by real life inventors. As students sketch, cut, glue, and write stories, they’ll bring their automaton creations to life.
The end result: cool inventions that spring into motion with moving arms and legs when students crank the wheels!
