Creativity Revealed with Miguel A. Del Real & Andy Bellomo

June 5
7:00PM - 8:30PM

Join guest host Dakota Shayne, a curator and conceptual artist based in Detroit and Saugatuck. Dakota will lead an engaging discussion with two of the artists featured in our exhibition "Stories of Us."
Line connects intersect, overlap, interrupt and merge.  Miguel and Andy will discuss how they both utlize line in their works, Miguel primarily with stark constrast of black and white and Andy with colorful glass. Creating individual lines that touch, but are also separate - as are individuals. Individual lines that together create several lines that create abstract form.
Miguel A. Del Real’s  art illustrates mostly black line work contrasted with colorful accents and original designs influenced by pre-Columbian and Indigenous patterns, as well as calligraphy and urban art. Miguel works with mediums including sumi ink, aerosol, acrylic paint, and utilizes fine art techniques of drawing, painting, and printmaking.  Del Real art can be recognized as large-scale public mural installations in Rogers Park, Logan Square and Little Village neighborhoods of Chicago, as well as in Brooklyn New York and Oaxaca City Mexico.  Also, Miguel A. Del Real has experience collaborating with other Artists and has exhibited for various solo and group exhibitions at Pilsen Outpost, Galerie F, Chicago Truborn, and the National Museum of Mexican Art.

Andy Bellomo is a mixed media artist, applying her perspective with acrylic, stained glass, repurposed objects and spray paint. Andy has exhibited at the Marran Gallery (Cambridge, MA), the Joffrey Ballet Studio and the Bridgeport Art Center in Chicago as well as Studio 659 in Whiting Indiana.
